Tuesday night proved to be just as exciting and eventful as the morning and afternoon before it! We, along with Dustin, Luke, and two new adventurers grafted into our journey, Michael and Ashley, hopped into three separate cars and headed onto I-10, due west towards the Bywater area of New Orleans. One of the rougher parts of town pre-Katrina, the Bywater is now a thriving place for the crescent city's young and hip. The setting of this shoot was Vaughan's, a dive bar with a grungy look and feel that matches it's 9th ward locale. As soon as we walked in, we holla'd at Travis and Josh for a while and after introducing them to Michael and Ashley, they filled us in on what exactly this whole production was about. Turns out, this shoot was a pilot concept for a Bacardi commercial. Until then, I had never heard of so much being invested into a pilot for a commercial, so it was eye-opening to see what kind of work gets put in for a 30 second to a minute and a half advertisement. Any who, to make a long story longer, Ashley got cast as the leading lady for the commercial, a great band played while cameras swirled the dance floor, hoping to get some good footage of people feeling the music, and afterwards, us and Ashley took Travis to a nearby Waffle House because he had never been to one before! A night full of dancing, filming, conversation, good laughs and waffles aren't anything like the typical Tuesdays we've sadly become accustomed to. This entire day will go down in our books as one filled with fun, new friends and new experiences. With one more day of shooting left, how could we not look forward to tomorrow for the awesomeness it would bring. Pool party anyone? //
