Yesterday we decided to pop into "Mint", a Baton Rouge based retailer that compiles fine art, home decor, shoes, & accessories all under one roof. Co-owned by three sisters, Mint has a unique store layout, a friendly staff, and eye-catching pieces that are amazingly functional as they are conversational. There are only a handful of stores in Baton Rouge that, upon entering them, make us ask ourselves if we're still in BR. Mint is one of those elite, home-grown retailers. From the outside looking in, they have a solid brand, a nice feel, & it is definitely worth your while to check out their store if you're unfamiliar them.

Woman Crush Wednesday

As I was cruising through the guide on my digital cable I saw one of my favorite movies playing on BBC America…A Knight's Tale! I hadn't seen this movie in years, so I decided to press "Select" on my remote. Lo and behold the woman crush that appeared in front of my eyes was none other than princess Jocelyn (Shannyn Sossamon). Shannyn is most famous for her role in this film where she received a few accolades for her performance. Why do we crush on Shannyn? If her real-life personality resembles princess Jocelyn in any way (fun, intelligent, adventurous, elusive), what's not to crush on?

This album is in our top-3 most important LPs that have attributed to our development as musicians and artists. Outkast, collectively, was lightyears ahead of everyone else, and most of the music on this album is classic, meaning the bulk of the material doesn't sound dated. I find it interesting to listen to albums and songs that I really only used to listen to before I started playing music. Becoming acquainted with music and how it's made, changed the way you enjoy it. I remember listing to this album back in 2003 and was taken aback by how "weird" some the tracks and skits were. Fast-forwarding to today, I'm blown away by how dope it really is! We love fearless, adventurous production, with some experimentation thrown in; this album has all of that.

Thank you André and Big Boi for creating this piece of art, and inspiring musicians like us to just be and make what feels right.
